At Peacemakers we specialise in helping schools resolve conflict. We offer Peacemaker workshops that build the social and emotional skills that underlie peaceful conflict resolution as well as training in Peer Mediation. We also offer INSET training for teachers and other school staff on a variety of topics. 

Peacemakers Workshops

Delivered through weekly circle time workshops, this course is beneficial for each individual, for the class dynamic, and for teachers.  Its aim is to help build strong relationship in the classroom and provide the skills to continue doing so.  It is not 'one size fits all', each course is tailored to the needs of the group by the trainer.

Peer Mediation

A successful Peer Mediation programme liberates teachers and empowers young people. Our three day training provides pupils and staff with the skills not only to carry out mediation, but also how to set up and run a successful peer mediation scheme within the school. 

The benefits of peer mediation:

  • Teachers’ time is freed up to teach
  • Students taken on a new mantle of responsibility and develop transferrable skills including confidence, neutrality, listening, empathy
  • Solutions between disputants are consensual and therefore more likely to last

INSET training

We offer a range of staff training including:

  • Making Circle Time work for you and your class
  • Adults as role models
  • Drama and storytelling in the Circle
  • Using drama and storytelling to explore sensitive issues
  • Introduction to conflict resolution
  • Introduction to restorative approaches
  • Using Restorative Circles in the classroom
  • Mediating pupils and supporting peer mediation

All training is done in circles and is highly participative, practical in nature and fun.  Our courses are suitable for teachers, teaching assistants, NQTs, learning mentors, PSHE Coordinators, Pastoral Staff, Lunchtime Supervisors and more!
