About:

Diwali is a Hindu festival that is also known as the Festival of Lights.

Synonymous to the festival are diya oil lamps, usually made from clay with a cotton wick dipped in ghee or vegetable oils.

The lighting of a diya lamp in honor of Diwali is regarded as forcing light upon darkness and evil. Further, since light represents all things good, a light shining from a diya in every corner is meant to bring hope and prosperity to all.

Our diya painting workshop is the perfect way to celebrate Diwali or can be enjoyed as a learning experience for classes studying India or Asian culture as a topic. It can also be enjoyed together with one of our Indian Dance Workshop days for a truly inspiring cultural experience.

The workshop caters for between 50 and 200 children per day. Our artist sets up a mobile studio in your school and provides specialist child-friendly materials.
