About:

Our Day in History Workshop gives schools the opportunity to enjoy visits from soldiers from very differing time periods.

The day can be split in to different sessions, with classes having the option to either meet our WW1 solider Private William Arthur Elland or our Roman soldier, Lucius Felix Silvanus.

Private Elland, 3 section, 2nd platoon D company of the 2nd Bedfordshire Regiment will talk to the children about his experiences and give them an insight in to what life was like during the Great War.

Lucius Felix Silvanus of the 20th Legion, Valeria Victrix will introduce himself to the children and will talk about how he joined the Roman Empire.

Felix will also talk to the children about other aspects of life in Roman times such as working as a slave, food, bathing and many of the games that soliders used to play.

The workshop is an interactive way for children to learn about both Roman times and life during WW1.
