PUT A WOW! INTO YOUR EARTH AND SPACE TOPIC WITH A COPY OF THE ACTUAL SUIT USED IN THE MOON LANDINGS SIGNED BY THE REAL BUZZ ALDRIN!
Welcome teachers to the most unique space workshop in the UK, that will inspire your pupils and put a genuine 'Buzz' into your Earth and Space topic.
Our replica A7L moon Apollo moon landing spacesuit is the same design used by Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin and in fact all of the 12 astronauts who walked on the moon.
Mr B the 'spaceman' is a qualfied and experienced teacher who will arrive in your school fully suited up in the following two versions for Key Stage one and two:
KEY STAGE ONE - The hunt for Spaceted!
Mr B will come in to the year one and two classes in role as a spaceman looking for his spaceship and his partner, Spacted. After a quick introduction and some reassurances from the pupils that ha can breathe ok without his helmet, Mr B takes the pupils through the story of him hunting for Spaceted on the moon, including the journey there and back with many acting opportunities including the hunt for Spaceted across the mountains and craters of the moon and also an encounter with the Moon Princess (i.e. one of the girls in the class, who coincidentally always seems to have the same name as the real Moon Princess :). This is then followed by a chance to launch 'stomp' rockets across the hall or classroom in a fitting rocket-powered finale!
KEY STAGE TWO - The science behind the suit and the space race
Mr B comes in to the hall to let the pupils see the suit and discuss its various parts, such as the in built cooling system and the various buttons and other functions.
He then takes the pupils through a HD video presentation, including a range of scale models, real space-flown artefacts and signed pictures of Apollo and space shuttle astronauts, whom Mr B has actually met!
The session ends with a chance for the pupils to have their picture took wearing the Buzz Aldrin glove which also includes a detailed copy of his own cuff checklist from the moon!
But that's not all, because the workshops can also be adapted to your needs to include more rocket launches, paper rockets and even a chance to drive a mini moon rover!
In addition, Mr B is also happy to visit both key stages in a single day and is very flexible about meeting your exact needs for the topic.
