About:

Explore Ancient Greek theatre, Gods, the rivalry between Athens & Sparta, the Olympics and the story of Cynisca, a Spartan Princess who became the first ever female Olympian.

Year 5 Girl It is a great way to learn history, because we learn by doing it and it stays in your mind.

This popular day uses a high quality play written in the ancient Greek style by a published young people’s writer to engage pupils in the Ancient Greek world. The day delivers History through English.

Huge impact. Lots of support and challenge to improve their skills in English, History and socially. It delivers English alongside History because they are learning about vocabulary; speaking and listening skills practised; reading with expression; Drama; and finding evidence of character’s personalities from texts.

Very interactive and engaging for all children all day. Children who are not necessarily higher ability had a chance to shine. Performances at the end were outstanding. Children were supporting and advising each other.

Year 5 Boy I would only improve the day by having a longer day learning because it was epic.
