• Inspirational, enriching, informative poetry workshops available for groups and classes of up to 30 individuals. They discuss, brainstorm, note down, do some drama, discuss, imagine and  then write!
  • All participants are encouraged to utilise the basic writing tools they have at their disposal. The gifted, talented and higher ability pupils are motivated to use advanced skills more in keeping with their  own levels.
  • Miss Lake, author, poet, teacher and facilitator uses  fun, drama and art to enhance her lively cross curricular poetry workshops.

Her  workshops and sessions including NATIONAL POETRY DAY, (DRAGONS, SUPER HEROES, EXTREME WEATHER, THE SEASONS, ENVIRONMENT, IDENTITY, HUMAN  RIGHTS, CIVIL RIGHTS, CONFLICT, MOVING ON, NATURE,  REMEMBRANCE DAY, TRANSITION, NEW BEGINNINGS)  are a time to explore and create. This will be done sometimes through role play, through art and always through discussion to gather pertinent words and phrases to produce personal prose and poetry.

In Miss Lake's sessions she shares, talks, presents and performs her poems taken from her own poetry book, allowing the participants to be drawn in and given the self belief to write and produce their own prose and poems. Sometimes a writing frame is provided, but freestyle writing is encouraged. At the close the participants are encouraged to celebrate their participation by reading their poetry out loud.
