About:

Journalism for Schools offer an interactive workshop to students of all ages, brought to you by Sally Hunt, an award-winning journalist with 25 years of experience reporting and writing for newspapers and magazines. She is also the Editor of an upmarket lifestyle magazine.

Sally brings her real-life experience to schools and colleges and can adapt her workshop to the age of the students, making it interesting and inspiring as well as meeting National Curriculum requirements in English, Citizenship, PSHE and Science.

Sally will talk students through the process of finding a story to accurately reporting it to a wide audience of readers. During the workshop Sally will tell the students how she started off as a journalist as well as recounting interesting anecdotes about her time on newspapers. From the drama of reporting on murder cases to the more humorous, quirky and sometimes sad stories the life of a news reporter is never dull. She will answer questions and show the class her work, along with a power-point presentation.

Journalism for Schools brings the reality of reporting on the news to the classroom. Students get a hands-on experience and the chance to find out more about journalism as a career.

A day or half day workshop is fun, educational and confidence-building.
