YES TO TASTE, NO TO WASTE - Free Workshops on Food Waste & £500 available for Schools

3 Opportunties available to schools:

1. Six FREE workshops on the topic of FOOD WASTE and HEALTHY EATING. Delivered in your school by Groundwork London, for Year 5 or 6.
Cross curricular linking to Science, Geography, Literacy and Numeracy

2. A FOOD WASTE Campaign
Whole school pupil-led action, organised by Groundwork. Up to £500 for schools to deliver the Campaign.

3. FAMILY LEARNING Sessions available

 

The programme is focussed on reducing food waste and encouraging healthy, sustainable eating. It has been written by teachers and is cross curricular, covering numeracy, literacy, science and D&T.  The  workshops are interactive and consolidate learning through hands-on activities and will be delivered by experienced Groundwork staff.  Groundwork will  also organise the campaign which will aim to spread the key  project messages to the whole school community including parents and  carers.  
 
This EU-funded programme is part of the Transforming City Food Habits for Life initiative being led by Resource London - the partnership between food waste experts, WRAP and LWARB - together with environmental education experts Groundwork London. 

The programme is available to three schools in each of the nine participating London boroughs. If your  school would like to take up this opportunity, please contact us ASAP. Places will be offered on a first come first served basis. For more information please see the flyer.
